Here we go again!

Once again the craziness of football season is here. Practice every night for 2 hours right in the middle of the evening, and as my friend Amy would say, it's fabulous! We spend a ton on fast food during these 3 months. Draft day was yesterday and Ry is thrilled with the team he is on and is excited to be playing his friend Chance and a few teammates from last year. Ky and I are bummed that we lost our Arctic Circle friends, Jackson's & Dicus' Families :( I will miss you guys & gals! I went to school with his new coach, Troy Dixon, who had a perfect season last year and I am excited to see what Ry can learn from him. I know that Coach Dixon will be A LOT harder on Ry than Coach Tafoya was, I think I yelled at Ry more than he did, well...I know I did, I have hours and hours (7 full DVDs) of game time with me yelling in the back ground. I LOVE IT! Anyway, Coach Dixon is making them work hard and he comes home exhausted!

It is awesome to watch your kids excel in things that they love to do. As a friend of mine said, "to watch them become more than they thought they could", it's a great feeling and makes the inconvenience of it all worth it. If your a parent, you know what I mean. From the time Ry could talk he has been passionate about football. Nothing would make me happier than to see him achieve his goal of playing football for BYU. Family, friends, and strangers have tried telling him that the "U" is better, he has never wavered and still remains 100% loyal to BYU. He is the cutest! I love him and I am very proud of him :)

After all the worrying, He is FINE!

Almost four months ago Joel came down with a bad case of bronchitis. On his chest x-ray the radiologist from Ogden Clinic noticed something "prominent" in his left lung that should be checked again in a few months. So, a few weeks ago I made him go back to the clinic for another chest x-ray and again the spot they saw was still "prominent" and he should have a CT scan done. I was FREAKING OUT! He was fine, everything is always.....fine :)

Well this time I should have listen to him. It would have saved me hours of worrying about him. On Tuesday afternoon he had his appointment with a specialist at the University of Utah (Thanks Jo for helping me get him an appt. so quickly and for coming to visit with us!) and after 4 long hours, and a few test, many doctors and two radiologist said they could fine NOTHING wrong with his lungs. They think what the radiologist from Ogden Clinic is seeing is the end of a large vein. So just this once he was right, and just this once I am thrilled about that. I love you Bud!

She did it :)

I am so proud of Ky. Last year at lagoon when the new ride, Wicked, opened up I thought for sure that Ky would NEVER go on it. She wanted nothing to do with it.

On Saturday Night, with no hesitation, she went with Joel, Ry, and Jen. I stayed back with Ry's friend, Talmage, that had no plans of going anywhere near the ride. He didn't even want to get in on the picture after they got off. I know that she was scared, however, she put on a very brave face for her brother - she's the cutest!

East Canyon

Last week was CRAZY! I spent the week helping Craig & Darcie with their two kids, while trying to entertain my own kids. By Thursday night I was exhausted. On Friday Shauna , Joel's cousin, and her family flew in from Nashville, TN. We met for a family BBQ and the kids went swimming in the pool. Later that night we went to my grandparents house to meet up with my family for my Dad's birthday. My Dad turn 55 on the 12th.

On Saturday, his actual birthday, just the adults went to their house and had a nice dinner. Sunday we spent the day boating. This picture is of Ry falling off the tube. Ky and I enjoy trying to throw him off - faster Dad, faster! This week my parents friends from California are here staying with them. Last night we met for dinner and we plan on seeing them again before they fly back home on Wednesday.

This weekend is already filling up quickly. Tonight is our friends going away party. The Madison's (Ian, Lora, and kids) are moving to St. George next week, so a bunch of us are meeting at Angie's to have a BBQ. I am going to miss Lora Terribly. Midland just won't be the same without her! On Saturday we are taking Tal to Lagoon so that his Mom, my friend Shalise, can have a day to study for her math test that is next week. There is never a dull moment around here :) See below for more pictures of our boating trip.

The Holiday Weekend

As usual we stayed busy during the holiday weekend. It started off with my mother-in-laws birthday party on the 3rd. Later that night we went to Bountiful to my parents house and walked down Eagle Lake Golf Course with the entire family to watch fireworks. The kids got a kick out of the fact that the sprinklers came on and soaked us while we were watching them :) It was definitely a memory maker!

On the 4th we were invited to join Craig, Darcie and their kids at their campsite up South Fork Canyon. We arrived around 2:00 pm and spent the day rafting down the river. Ry loved it right away, of course, but Ky had to make a few runs before she got comfortable. It brought back great memories for me of tubing down the Weber River with my neighborhood while I was growing up. We spent the night roasting hot dogs and s'mores and just visiting around the camp fire. I think Joel and the kids enjoyed sleeping under the stars, I missed our trailer something fierce. All four of us were crammed on a king size air matteress, and by midnight I was FREEZING. By early morning I was DONE and ready to pack up and head home. We pulled in our driveway around 9:00 am and crashed till noon.

That night, while my mom watched our kids at our house, Joel and I took his Brother and my Dad to see the new Will Smith movie, Hancock. On Sunday the kids went to spend the night at Joel's parents house. Joel and I went to church then later that night we went down to my parents house and enjoyed a nice dinner just the four of us!
