This describes how I am feeling....perfectly!

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth and populated the Earth with broccoli, cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow and red vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives. Then using God's great gifts, Satan created Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and Krispy Creme Donuts. And Satan said, "You want chocolate with that?" And Man said, "Yes!" and Woman said, "and as long as you're at it, add some sprinkles." And they gained 10 pounds. And Satan smiled. And God created the healthful yogurt that Woman might keep the figure that Man found so fair. And Satan brought forth white flour from the wheat, and sugar from the cane and combined them. And Woman went from size 6 to size 16. So God said, "Try my fresh green salad." And Satan presented Thousand-Island Dressing, buttery croutons and garlic toast on the side. And Man and Woman unfastened their belts following the repast.God then said, "I have sent you heart healthy vegetables and olive oil in which to cook them." And Satan brought forth deep fried fish and chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And Man gained more weight and his cholesterol went through the roof.God then created a light, fluffy white cake, named it "Angel Food Cake," and said, "It is good." Satan then created chocolate cake and named it "Devil's Food."God then brought forth running shoes so that His children might lose those extra pounds. And Satan gave cable TV with a remote control so Man would not have to toil changing the channels. And Man and Woman laughed and cried before the flickering blue light and gained pounds. Then God brought forth the potato, naturally low in fat and brimming with nutrition. And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fried them. And Man gained pounds.God then gave lean beef so that Man might consume fewer calories and still satisfy his appetite. And Satan created McDonald's and its 99-cent double cheeseburger. Then said, "You want fries with that?" And Man replied, "Yes! And super size them!" And Satan said, "It is good." And Man went into cardiac arrest.God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery. Then Satan created HMOs.

I am getting too stink'n old!

This cute girl, Cassie, is from one of my favorite families in my neighborhood. Rod and Janice are amazing and I adore their two cute girls, Cassie and Morgan. Today as I was driving home from Ry's friends house, I look in my rear view mirror and it's Cassie, DRIVING! I believe she was around 3 or 4 years old we both built our houses, and now she is driving! Where does the time go?

I had to stop and take her picture with my phone. She couldn't stop laughing while I was trying to take her picture for my blog, which, btw, she had no idea what a blog was! WHAT! How could you not know what a blog is? Then again, Cassie is not in anyway a girly girl. This chick is into Nascar, hunting, Nascar, four Wheeling, Nascar, sports and anything else she can talk her dad into letting her do, when she not watching Nascar :o)

Our Weekend...

My weekend started on Friday at lunch with friends. Lynette picked a Japanese place in Layton, Osaka. I can now say I have tasted, due to peer pressure, sushi. YUCK! EWWW! GROSS! NEVER AGAIN!

You can tell in this picture that it took every ounce of control I had to keep it in my mouth! I shiver just thinking about how gross it was. That would be my supportive friend, Shauna, laughing in the background. Hopefully next week we can go somewhere normal...Chili's sounds fabulous!

My nephew, Colton, plays on an U11 soccer team. After forming the team, they had two players drop out. So, Ry decided to join their team - even though he has to play up a level. On Friday night Ry played his first game with the Cougars - he loves the name, btw.

The boys got killed, 18-0. They played La Roca, which for those of you that don't know about La Roca - they are a team that you have to try out to be on, and then pay hundreds of dollars to the coaches every month to coach your kids. So, until Ed McMann shows up on my doorstep, Ry will never play with La Roca, and will continue to get slaughtered by them :o( Better luck next week boys!

On Saturday night, Joel and I attended the adult session of our stake conference. Yeah! We made it! I was very proud that we didn't back out of going at the last moment :)

Afterwords we went to Taco Time with friends from the ward, Justin & Kallie. They are lot of fun and it was nice to be able to visit without the kids there bugging us.

After spending today working on our taxes, we went to my nephew's birthday party. Bodee turned 2 today! Happy Birthday Bodester!

Ryan, Bodee's dad, decorated that fabulous cake! Lucky kid :)

Now, it's time to start taking baths, reading time, and then my favorite part of the day....bed time!

PSS : One Person, One Question...

This week Julian asked, "If you had the opportunity to meet any ONE person (current or historical) and ask them any ONE question, who would it be and what would you ask?"

Okay, I have thought about this for a couple of days and I keep getting the same answer in my head. So, here it goes... Warning.... it's kind of creepy. If I could meet anyone, including those from the past, I would want to meet my Grandma S., my mom's mom. She passed away a few years before I was born. The question I would ask is... Why is it that we have never met, but yet I feel the closest to you out of any one on my mom's side of the family. Sometimes I feel it is because I am so close to my mom, I ADORE her, and other times I feel like her presents is always around me. But given the chance I would ask if it was all in my head... & heart, or if she really was, and is, with me. Lame, I know, but the same question came to me over and over again.

I have an Great Aunt Ruth on my mom's side, my grandma's sister-in-law... that swears I am EXACTLY like my grandma, in looks and personality. My Aunt tears up practically every time I see her... When I was young it use to scare me, creep me out... But now that I am older, I feel honored, like I am the lucky one! Both my brother and sister take after my dad's side of the family, tall and skinny, I am the only one who takes after my mom's, not so tall, not so skinny :)

So, Grandma S., Where ever you are, what ever you are doing, I am positive that when we are given the chance to meet, we will surely be BFF's!

Mom, if you are reading this....STOP CRYING. Dad, give mom a hug :)

Ky's Big Day!

Today Christi and I took Ky to get her haircut. She loved it! We checked her out of school early, it was the perfect day with it being an early-out day with fame, so she didn't miss much. The only place we could find on such short notice was at Ulta in Riverdale. Gina was absolutely fabulous with Ky. Christi and I kept saying how we wanted it cut, but Gina kept asking Ky how she wanted it :) It was very cute. Ky decided to go with a short a-line bob. All together Ky had about 6 or 7 inches cut off! She looks so different, I wish I would have thought to take a before picture. These pictures were taken with my cell phone, so they are not the best.

After her haircut, we met up with my grandparents for lunch at the Olive Garden. She loved every minute of the attention she was getting. After lunch she wanted to hurry back to school for the 45 minutes that was left. She had show off her new do! She is so stink'n cute, I just love her!

FlowerzInHerHair.com

My friend, Amy, just started her own on-line bow business. She is absolutely fabulous at making these bows! I have been getting my bows from her for the past two years now. She is always so sweet to help me in my desperate time of need. I never do anything that is not at the last minute and she is always there for me :) Thanks, Amy!

Ky is wearing a red bow in her school picture that is posted on the side, but her favorite is the headbands with the rhinestones. They are perfect, not to too tight on her head.

If you order soon, Amy has posted an online coupon.
Order $25 and get $5 off!

Good Luck Amy!

Conference Championship Weekend...

So, yesterday we slacked big time! We spent pretty much the entire day watching football. It's was fabulous! But now I have the guilt. I thought it was are stake's turn for stake conference. Then a friend from the ward come over around 4:00 and informed us that next weekend is stake conference....Oops! So, last night I made up my mind that we are no longer slacking on stake conference, yes - we are terrible.

Back when Joel and I started going to church together, our first stake conference experience was the worst and we haven't been back since. Our kids were way to little and made the two hour session a nightmare. Now I think my kids are old enough to handle it, so we are going to give it a try. I'll let you know how it goes...

Anyway... The football games were fun to watch, I enjoyed watching the Cardinals win, I like to cheer for the underdog! But now the games are over and the Super Bowl is going to be interesting. Ry is going to be cheering for the Steelers, with a lot of family and friends, but once again I want to cheer for the underdog. The AZ Cardinals have never been to the Super Bowl in franchise history, so I think I am leaning in that direction.... But no matter who wins, I love our super bowl party, we always have a great time! My sister-in-law, Christi, knows how to throw a great party ;)

Man Tag

So, I saw this on a friend of a friends blog, loved it, and decided to copy the idea. I always blog about what is keeping up busy, and of course, all about my kids. This one is just for my man!

Where did you meet your husband? At the Newgate Mall, where we both worked.

How long did you date before you were married? Just over a year and a half.

How long have you been married? It will be 13 years this February!

What does he do that surprises you? How patient he is with me. Trust me, the man is a saint.

Whats your favorite feature of his? I love the way his eyes light up when he smiles at me. My Mom first pointed it out to me right after we started dating, it's very cute!

What is his best quality? His sense of humor, he is very sarcastic! We laugh a lot together.

Does he have a nickname for you? When I would see him at the mall I would call him Buddy. So, that started it, I call him Buddy and he calls me Bud. I can also tell what kind of mood he is in by the way he says it, it's kind of funny.

What is his favorite food? Pretty much anything but peas or pasta, which I love!

What is his favorite sport? Football or Basketball, he likes them both. I'm not sure which one is his favorite.

When and where did you first kiss? It was the third time we hung out together after both of us had become single again, at his brothers apartment in Washington Terrace. It was scary crossing that friendship line.

Whats your favorite thing to do as a couple? Well, of course..... It's going to dinner and a movie!

Do you have any children? Yes, 2 absolute precious angels, Ry & Ky. They spent the night at their grandparents house last night, can you tell I miss them this morning :)

Does he have any hidden talents? Many... He draws, he paints, he plays the piano...I could go on and on :)

How old is he? 32, but not for much longer.

Who said "I love you" first? He did!

What is his favorite music? He likes all kinds...Some that's even scary.

What do you admire most about him? How hard working, loving, funny, loyal, and devoted he is. Here again, I could on and on. He is FABULOUS!

What is his favorite color? Hmm..... I'm not sure he has one.

Will he read this? Yes, all of my blog entries are emailed to him automatically, lucky guy!

Who do you tag? All of the wife's on my blog list!

I love you oodles and oodles Buddy!

Baby Tag

Ry - Two Weeks Old ..................... Ry with Ky at Hospital

My Sister tagged me in her baby tag... So, I'll play along even though it has been a while :)

Were you married when you found out you were pregnant? Yes, We had been married 2 1/2 years when I got pregnant the first time.

What were your reactions when you found out you were pregnant? The first time it was NOT planned, so I cried and cried...Joel had a hard time understanding what I was saying on the phone, but after the initial shock, we were thrilled. The second time it was planned and all three of us were very excited.

How old were you? 22 the first time, 25 the second time.

How did you find out you were pregnant? Both times I had taken a home pregnancy test.

Did you want to find out the sex? Absolutely, got what I wanted both times!

Due date? Ry's due date was Sept. 20th, Ky's due date was May 15th

Did you deliver early or late? Two weeks early for both, My doctor knew that they were getting too big!

Did you have morning sickness? Not with Ry, EVERY DAY with Ky

What did you crave? I only had cravings with Ry... KFC Mashed Potatoes & Gravy

Did you get stretch marks? Gazillions!

What was your first child's sex? Boy

How many pounds did you gain throughout the pregnancy? With Ry I gained 45 lbs., with Ky I only gained 10 lbs... Remember I was throwing up EVERY DAY!

Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Only with Ry. Two months before he was due, I got food poisoning, and all the throwing up put me into labor. They stopped the labor and then sent me back home.

Where did you give birth? Ry I had at Ogden Regional, Ky I had at Davis Hospital

How many hours were you in labor? With Ry I was in Labor for 27 hours then had an emergency c-section, Ky was a scheduled c-section.

Was it natural or c-section? c-sections, for both

Did you take anything to ease the pain? Absolutely, it was fabulous!

How much did your child weigh? Ry weighed 10 lbs. 1 oz., Ky weighed 8 lbs. 14 oz.

What did you name him/her? Ryan Cameron & Kylie Rae

How old is your first born today? He is 10, she is 7

Is he/she named after anyone? Ryan is Joel's middle name. Rae is my Mom's middle name.

How long were you in the hospital after birth? 4 days with Ry, 2 days with Ky - I begged to go home :) We prepared Ry for everything, but the fact that Mom was going to be staying in the hospital. It was very traumatic for him.

Who was in the delivery room with you? My Mom went with me into surgery so Joel could be with the baby, they take the baby out of the freezing surgery room immediately. Plus, Joel fainted while in the birthing class while watching a video of a c-section...He would have never made it though it :)

Are you ready for another? ABSOLUTELY NOT! We are done - had one of each, and now we would just be out numbered :) I am ready for another nephew...or a niece might be nice, I don't have one of those yet.

While scanning the pictures above from their scrapbooks, it made me kind of sad... Where the heck did the time go? It's not fair that they grow up so fast :( So, now as I finally finish this post that I started hours ago.... I must go give them another kiss goodnight.

I tag ALL of the Mom's on my blog list!

PSS : Super Powers

This week was my turn to ask the PPS question. With the help of Ry, I asked... What super-power would you most like to have, and why?

After much thought I have decided that I would like to have the power of speed. Like Dash -from Disney's "The Incredibles" - he has the power of super speed. Awesome!

That way I could get all things done in a day that I needed to, and that would be FABULOUS :)

They loved it :)

PSS : Prevent or Not...

This week Lisa asked us, "If you had to make a choice between lowering your chances of being diagnosed with breast cancer by taking a pill for 5+ yrs, but dealing with some pretty brutal side effects, (hot flashes, changes in libido, depression, possible increase of other cancers, etc) would you do it?"

Hmm...

Good question. I can see pros and cons to both sides. Most likely I would not take the drug and continue with yearly/bi-yearly check-ups. I am the kind of person that likes to deal with things only when they happen... just ask my asthma doctor, lol :) I know there are numerous things that I can take to prevent an asthma attack, but because of the side effects, I choose not to take them - yuck!

PSS : Year 2008

Last week, yes - I am behind, Monica asked, what is the one event you will remember when you look back on the year 2008? So, because I can remember too many, I am going to narrow it down by the month....

February - Joel and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. He's the best ever!

March - Ky and I spent the entire day together and that night went to Princess's on Ice.

May - Ky turned 7 years old...Wow, my baby is getting old!

June - Went camping with Joel's side of the family. Had a great time with cousin's and grandparents.

July - Summer days filled with many trips to Lagoon, Roy Aquatic Center, and Summer in the park.

August - I took a weekend trip to Phoenix, AZ., with my sister and parents. Loved John Edward!

September - Ry's football team went undefeated in the regular season! Go Roy Royals! Ry turned 10 years old.

October - Ry's football team went through playoffs undefeated, made it to the WFFL Mini-Bowl at Weber State University. Lost to West Haven Maroon, but had a great experience with the team :)

November - Celebrated Thanksgiving with both sides of the family... Wow, that's a lot of food!

December - Full of Christmas parties and family events. Had a wonderful Christmas and the kids are already looking forward to the next one!

Overall the year was fabulous! We made it through the year without losing any loved ones, and for the most part, everyone stayed healthy and happy :)

New Years Eve Nightmare

~ Not for those with a sensitive stomach ~

MONDAY - I was sick with the stomach flu...I don't handle throwing up well. I HATE IT!

Then...

Wednesday, new years eve morning, the kids and I went shopping with my mom and sister to get food and supplies for our 1st annual new years eve party. My mom wanted to start a new tradition this year, one that she didn't have to share with any of the in-laws. So, the plan was to be at their house in Bountiful around 6 pm for dinner and games, then around midnight go sledding together. We even bought sparklers for the kids to hold while going down the hill. The the entire family would spend the night at my parents, wake up, have a big breakfast, go home. Fun, fun, fun....Well, it was supposed to be.

Around 1 pm Kylie started complaining of an upset stomach, and by 3 she began throwing up everywhere, mostly all over Joel. So, the new plan was for Joel and Ky to stay home and Ry and I would go ahead and go to the party. Because Brent, my brother, was going to make it to my mom's house before I was, Ry decided to ride to Bountiful with him. About the time I reached Kaysville, I got a call from my brother saying Ry had just thrown up all over his truck. FABULOUS! For those of you who don't know, I have major issues when it come to throw up. Nothing can put me into a panic attack faster, YUCK!

Once I made it to my parents house, Ry had convinced everyone that he was fine, just had gotten car sick...RIGHT. I knew better. Ry has NEVER gotten car sick. I should have just turned around and taken him back home. But, I couldn't deal with the thought that he might throw up again on the way home, so we stayed. To help take my mind off of it, my dad gave me a xanax -- worked wonderfully, until he started throwing up again a couple of hours later. At this point my dad and brother offered to drive him back home for me, with me following behind, so that I wouldn't have to deal with it if he threw up again. THANKS DAD & BRENT! Once we got home, Joel stepped in, and all was good. I brought in the new year laying downstairs on the couch, by myself, watching the ball drop in NY. Now I am praying that Joel doesn't get it.

I am not quite sure were I got my anxiety about throwing up. I have dealt with it my entire life as far as I know. I remember if anyone got the stomach flu in my house I would hibernate downstairs, and once I was old enough to drive, I would go spend the night at my grandparents house to get away. As a young adult, it kept me from going to parties with friends, too much drinking equals throwing up. Couldn't do it :)

I am SO blessed to have married such a patient man, he is fabulous when it comes to my throw up anxiety and takes very good care of the kids and I when we are sick. He also is understanding when I pack me and the kids up and head to my parents house for the night when he gets sick. Thanks Joel, I love ya oodles!

Congrats to the U

Although the U is not the first school I cheer for, that was an EXCEPTIONAL game! We all loved it! We watched the game from my parents house with all of the fam, well... most of them - slackers! It was a lot of fun to watch them hammer Alabama after all the crap they were saying about the U on ESPN.

The game kept all of us glue to it, even my Mom, until the final last minute interception! It was beautiful!

After all of the Christmas activities were over, Joel and I spent time doing "kid things" and then got in a date. Chuck E. Cheese was a blast. I thought that my kids might be getting to old for it, but we all LOVED it. It was tons of fun, expensive, but fun. It cost us $60 for a large pizza, four drinks, and LAME prizes bought with the 1,060 tickets that we won, but the memories were worth it.

Next came sledding...LOTS of sledding. My kids love it. I don't care to stand outside and freeze, but it's fun watching them fall and get up covered in snow, lol, AND keep going back for more. We took my nephews, Colton and Bailey, once and then went again other time.

On Saturday night Joel and I left the kids at his parents house and went out to a movie. We went and saw the new Will Smith movie, Seven Pounds. SAD...OMH! I thought it would be about a man giving away money, lots of money....NO, he was lining people up to give his body parts to after he commits suicide! Sorry if that killed it for you, rent it and cry in the privacy of your own home, you'll thank me later. Called my sister on the way home...couldn't talk :( I need a happy movie! If you have seen a good movie lately, besides bedtime stories, let me know.

Christmas

Our Christmas activities started at Joel's parents house, on Christmas Eve, around noon. Judd, Joel's brother, brought his new girlfriend, Nancy, and her two cute boys, Preston (12) and Ty (10). Joel's parents cooked a big lunch of turkey with all the trimmings and then we exchanged presents. The kids got the Wii and few other small things from their Grandparents and Uncle Judd. They were thrilled and couldn't wait to get home to start playing the Wii...Joel said they could be first... right after him! It was FABULOUS to meet Nancy, she is hilarious - JUDD, DON'T SCREW IT UP, SHE'S A KEEPER :)

Around 5 pm we left and went to my brother's house to join my side of the family. Brent slaved over dinner for us, while Christi worked that day. We had ham and cheese potatoes, my favorite, and of course, many snacks. After exchanging presents we played the candy bar game, a Christmas Eve MUST! It's fabulous to win candy the night before you go to a movie!

Usually we play bingo every year, but this year we ran out of time...Yup, we gab to much plus my Dad left to run my grandparents home. So we decided to save the bingo prizes for our 1st Annual New Year's Eve party. Then it was home to bed!

Christmas morning came early....WAY EARLY! Ry and Ky bombarded our room at 4 AM! You would have thought someone had gotten shot. The lights came on and the yelling began - WAKE UP, WAKE UP! So, only because Joel and I were just as excited, we made our way downstairs.

A few of Ry favorites are the PSP with Madden '09 and a case, black iPod Nano with a case and a music gift certificate, and his absolute favorite, a cell phone.

Ky favorites are pretty much the same. She got the PINK DS with a few games and a case (Yes, she got more games, but DS games don't cost $60 a piece), purple iPod Nano with a case and a music gift certificate, a cell phone, and all the clothes.

Then while they played, Joel and I went back to bed. At 9 am, we met my parents, grandparents, and brother over at Susie and Ryan's house for breakfast. Christmas morning wouldn't be Christmas morning without my Dad's WORLD FAMOUS eggs and bacon. We risked our lives, driving in the snow storm, but it was worth it!

After we got home Joel's parents stopped by to see the kids and then we got cleaned up to go to the movie. After finding out that Marley & Me is very sad...good - but still ends sad, we decided to go see Bedtime Stories, with Adam Sandler. It was so funny, we loved it! Then we stopped by Joel's grandparents house in Layton to visit, then it was home to relax. Overall Christmas was wonderful. We all really enjoyed it - AND - it only took me a week to get my house cleaned up reorganized, YEAH!

~ COMING SOON - THE NEW YEARS EVE NIGHTMARE! ~
