Crazy Kid...
Today, while I was helping a friend paint her bedroom, I got a phone call from Ry. He was calling from the nurse's office at school... Any time a conversation starts with, "Mom, don't freak out..." you know it's not going to be good.He starts to tell me this story... "Mom, Derick and I hit heads when I tried to intercept the football, I didn't go unconscious and stop breathing or anything, but I did black out - can you bring me some Ibuprofen?" I start in with, are you okay?? " Yeah, my vision is blurry and everything has a green shade to it, but I'm fine!" he said. I asked him if his friends had to help him up and into the nurse's office and he said, "no, when I opened my eyes I had all this pain in my head, so I started rolling around on the ground, holding my head. Then I got embarrassed because I crying, so I got up and caught a few more passes but my head hurt too bad and I had to stop." So, after I told him to stay in the nurses office I headed over to the school.
When I got to the school he still had tears in his eyes and he was pale white. I think it scared him more than anything. He said didn't want to look like a wimp by going home early - but there was no way I was going to leave him there! Once I explained that he would be going to Burger Bar with me and my friends, Heather and Amy, he decided that it would be okay to go home after all, lol.
Tonight he has a bruise by the side of his right eye but is doing fine, however I still can't stop hugging him :)

Amy, who I adore, awarded me this lovely award. So, just for her, I will give it a try. Here are the rules and the deal.
1. Present this award to 4 others whose blogs you find brilliant in content and/or design or those who have encouraged you.
2. Tell those people that have been awarded the HONEST SCRAP AWARD and inform them of these guidelines in receiving the award.
3. Share “10 honest things” about yourself.
Here are the 10 Honest Things.
(I am writing this after only 4 hours of sleep - I went to the midnight showing of New Moon, sorry if I don't make sense or begin to ramble...)
1. I Cry... Ever since my friend, Joanna, took me to see Stepmom (the SADDEST movie with Julia Roberts) right after Ry was born (literally it was the first time I had been out without him or Joel) - I CRY, it totally ruined me... Now I cry during movies, I cry during movie trailers, I even cry during Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
2. I like the middle... I am the middle child, I like sitting in the middle of a group of friends, I like the middle of cake and brownies, I like the middle of the bed - sorry Joel -, and I like the middle of the road - well...don't really like it, but I end up there anyway!
3. I am an expensive employee... I work for my Brother, Brent. He owns his own plumbing company and I take care of payroll and all other bookkeeping. His office is in his house. So every day I pretty much have free rein over his house while everyone is gone during the day! I take things, lol... Most days it is something small like a drink, a Pepsi or some Orange Juice, sometimes I help myself to Breakfast or if Christi's Aunt Vera is there, she makes me lunch! But then there are days that I don't want to go to the store, so I take home stuff for dinner, lol - I KNOW! THEY LOVE ME!! Right at the moment I am trying REALLY hard not to take home their cat, Gordo. I love Gordo and think he needs to come home with me!
p.s. Christi, I am going to bring back that necklace ;)
4. He's not mine... I need to stop claiming my sister's little boy, Bodee, as my own... When we go out and about together people think that he looks a lot like Ry, same blond hair and big blue eyes, so they figure he is mine! I love it....my sister, however, not so much :( I drives her crazy! She should feel honored because, trust me, there are some kids I would never consider claiming as my own.
5. I am terrible at LAUNDRY... I hate sorting it, I hate putting it in the wash machine, I hate trying to remember to put it in the dryer, I hate folding it.... but I do. What I don't do is put it way, I fold it and leave it down stairs thinking that my cute little family will take it up to their rooms, but NO... Apparently they think it is easier to come down stairs every morning to pick out what to wear and since I very rarely go down stairs - except when I watch soaps while folding the laundry that I hate - it doesn't bother me! I would much rather go up stairs and curl up with a good book while they watch TV down stairs...with the laundry :)
6. Children, Children, Children... I wish I would have thought about having another baby while Ky was still in the diaper stage. Once both of my kids where out of that stage we got use to the convenience of them being older, so when we did talk about having another one, when Ky was 4 almost 5, we decided not to go back to all the delightful things a baby brings. Now I get baby hungry all the time... Susie is having another one and I can't wait!
7. My hate how small my house is... When we bought our house Joel and I both worked full-time and we never thought we would raise our kids here, to close to a busy street - it would be our starter home. Four months later I became pregnant....NOT PLANNED. But we both had decided even before we got married that once we started our family that I would stay home. So I quit my job... YIKES!! Now that we could afford to move, we LOVE our ward, love most of our neighbors, and like the schools - life is good. So here we are, in my SMALL house until my kids graduate and leave home - but then I won't need a bigger house, so.....
8. I hate voicemail... I will rarely leave a message for anyone and hardly ever listen to my messages, at the moment I have 27 messages that I'm sure I will just delete. If you really need to get a hold of me you can text me, send me a message on facebook (which will text me) or better yet, just call back later! I am seriously considering changing my recording to: HI! You have reached Heidi, I'm not available right now so call back later!!
9. I love listening to my kids. There is nothing better than listening to them interact together when they don't know I am there or that I am listening. Ry loves to make her giggle and it's adorable. Right now they are playing Uno together in another room...very cute :D Unfortunately it won't be long before I hear Ky start yelling "Monkey Butt, YOU SUCK!" at him. Trust me, I have told her a thousand times to stop saying that!!!
10. I thought I couldn't love my husband any more than I already did on the day I married him, but...I was wrong. I love him a little bit more and more everyday, he is absolutely amazing and absolutely perfect...for me ;)
I would like to bestow this honor on the following:
Shawna S.
Robin S.
Heidi M.
Michelle G.
Anyone else that reads this and wants to do it, I would love to see you squirm.

Summer of 2009
This summer flew by... We stayed entertained with weekly trips with friends to Lagoon and numerous Water Parks, participated in parades, went on camping trips with family, going to drive-in movies, and much more! I use to dread summers when my kids were little. It was difficult to take to two little kids to water parks and such without the constant worry and a lot of work, but now that they are older it is easier to enjoy various activities with them! PLUS...they both slept in until 9 or 10 every morning! It was WONDERFUL!! August snuck up on us quickly and before we knew it, it was time to go back to school.

Ketchup... ;)
Okay...I have really been a blog slacker lately so this is my attempt to catch up! WARNING...It's not short!
Birthday Boy...
Field Trips....
So far, I have been on one field trip with each one of my kids this year.
With Ry I went to the Enviromental Center and I got the best work-out of my life! They had us hiking all over the mountain. Next time either one of them go to the Enviromental Center their DAD will be going with them :)

(Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches)
(I finally got to sit my lazy butt down!)
tin foil lunches, he had two!
The groups last activity was archery and then it was time to leave. The kids had a great time and they went home exhausted...so did us parents!
With Ky, I went to Kent's Market to learn about......well, I'm not really sure actually, but it was crazy and total chaos! We walked around, with about 125 students & 30 parents, filling out a worksheet and annoying customers - good times!
NOW that was fun!!
The kids could bowl as much as they wanted for 2 hours. After about an hour though the kids started getting bored and the parents started to show their skills....or lack thereof :)
Halloween...

(Yes, she was very concerned about having the flower
in her hair show in the picture, silly girl)
After pizza and swamp juice, frozen slushy lemonade with gummy worms, the fun began!

The kids bobbed for apples....

carved pumpkins...
and played various games! They had a ball.
After all the Halloween activities were over.....

We, finally, celebrated MY BIRTHDAY!
Yes, just like my kids...I am a brat!
Because Ry was sick with the swine flu the weekend before Halloween, my Mom held her Annual Halloween Party on Halloween day this year. Ry, with some pressure from a Grandparent, dressed up as a Pirate. Ky, who had her costume for over a month, dressed up as Tinkerbell.
They were both very cute!

Later that evening we took a group of our friends to our ward's trunk-or-treat and then went back to Joe and Heather's house for dinner, Burger Bar! The older kids continued going door to door trick or treating and the rest of us stayed, in the warm house, to visit and enjoy Heather's homemade chocolate eclairs - YUMMY!
Overall the day was VERY LONG but a lot of fun!!

Make it stop!
Lately I have really been struggling with my kids growing up too fast! I want it to STOP, or at least slow way down... I was trying really hard, for a very short time, to not be over protective but have decided that they are just going to have to get use to it, lol. I always have been over protective and I always will be over protective. I am going to drive them and their father crazy... if I'm not already!
I found this picture, which is one of my favorites of them together, and it made my heart smile :)
So, when life gets crazy and we are running this one to football, that one to dance, trying to finish up errands, and finally setting down for dinner and homework around 8pm - I am going to try to remember the lyrics to a great song...
You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These Are Some Good Times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this
...even if I am at my wits end and yelling at them to go to bed for the 20th time that night :)

Finally...
A while ago I started to make slide shows of each of my kids... I got Ry's done right away and now, months and months later, I finally have Ky's done! Check it out on the side bar :)
