Awards Assembly

Last week I received notes from both Ry and Ky's teachers saying that they were going to be getting an award at the end of the year assembly on Monday. Both of these awards were perfect for my children, so I shouldn't have been surprised :)

Ky received the award for Outstanding Handwriting. This award goes to only 2 students in each class. She is my little perfectionist and I would say that most days her handwriting is better than mine!

Ry received the National Fitness Award, signed by President Obama. This award went to every student who could reach different fitness goals during the school year. Only a small group from each class achieved this award.

I am so proud of both of my cute kids!

iFly

Last weekend we took the kids to go try indoor
skydiving at iFly at Junction in Ogden.
The pictures were taken with
a cell phone, so they are not the best :(

I was surprised at how eager Ky was to fly and
at the hesitation Ry had about trying it. I thought
for sure that it would have been the opposite!
By the end of the night they both thought they were
expert flyers and were excited to try it again...
Which will be right around the time they
have jobs to pay for it ;)

The each got 2 -1 minute flights, that went
by really fast, but they enjoyed every
single second of it!!

Grandma A.

~Happy 79th Birthday Grandma~

I love you!

School Carnival

This year, because I might have a little influence, the PTA made changes to our yearly carnival. Normally the PTA Mom's plan, buy for, and run everything...games, food, prizes, etc.

This year we had Custom Events come out and the PTA Mom's had to do NOTHING!! Well, I did have to make a phone call, it was rough ;) It looked like everyone was having a great time and everyone I talked to had only good things to say about it!

This was the first year, since my kids entered elementary school, that I was able to spend the time with my kids and friends. The kids and I are already looking forward to next year's carnival!

Scout Camp

On Friday Joel and Ry went on their first camping trip with the 11 yr. old scouts. They went to Crystal Hot Springs....Brrrr. Once they got there and were finished setting up, they went swimming, cooked tin foil dinners, and had a ceremony for retiring old flags. Even though they had a fabulous time, we are still dealing with a very over tired 11 year old ;)

While the boys are away....the girls must play!

On Friday I had PTA convention down at BYU in Provo ~ It's a very fun but very long day. I got home late to Susie, Heather, Amy, and Kylie waiting for me to begin our evening. We started with dinner at Chick-Fil-A and then went to see Letters To Juliet. It was a little long for Ky, but the rest of us girls loved it! Might not have loved who we sat by...but loved the movie ;) Sorry Amy!

It Works!!

After a long week of dealing with the yearly spring dose of the common cold and asthma, I went and bought Mucinex today. IT WORKS GREAT! It sent all of the mucus family.....mom, dad, brother, sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, parents and grandparents away! I have a busy week ahead of me and do NOT have time to be down in bed. Thanks Mucinex!

Mother's Day Weekend

On Friday night, while Ky was at a birthday slumber party, Joel and I took Ry and his friend, Nathan, to see Iron Man 2 after dinner at Chick-Fil-A. They loved it! Later that night they started out the evening determined to spend the night out on the trampoline. Joel gave them 30 minutes before the came back in. They lasted 35 minutes :)

On Saturday the Young Women in our our put on a fashion show as our yearly fundraiser. The girls had a blast! Earlier in the week the girls went to Down East and picked out 2 outfits to model during the fashion show. We arrived two hours early and had a few hairdressers from our ward came early and helped with hair and makeup. We even have a D.J. in our ward that came with his sound system, music and lights. Once the girls got over being nervous they really started to enjoy it.

Later that evening we met Heather and Joe at Lucky China for dinner. After dinner we all came back to our house for movies and treats.

MOTHERS DAY!

The day was great! Joel took the kids and let me have alone time....to finish my book! After we went to Joel's parents for dinner and then to my grandma's for dessert. This year I bought my own mother's day presents...a new watch band, a new lanyard, and an iPod Touch!

Susie's Baby Shower

Last Thursday night a few of Susie's friends gave her
a baby shower at Village Inn....because of SNOW,
yep snow in April, a few friends were too nervous
to make the drive, bringing babies of their own.

Ky and I, with my Mom, decided that we should join in!
Christi was unable to crash with us due to work :(

We had a great time, lots of laughs! Ky and I made
Susie the infant canopy, which turned out SO cute,
and filled it was miscellaneous baby items.
She also got several cute outfits, an infant bathtub,
and lots of diapers!

I am getting so excited to meet baby Haylee!
(I'm sure her Mom is too ;)
Only 4 more weeks!

She's 9!

Birthday Myspace Graphics

WOW! Were did the time go??

She thinks it is hilarious to remind me that this is the
last year I will have a kid in the single digits....
:( I don't think it is funny at all :(

Ky, you are, and always will be, our sweet baby girl.
Mom, Dad, and Ry love you very much!
(although, MOM loves you most!)

I hope you enjoyed your birthday season!
(3 parties spread out over almost a week)
Unfortunately, after today you can no longer say,
"BUT....it's my birthday!" ~ thank goodness! ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART!

What was I thinking?

For a few months Ky had been asking to do a makeover on her bedroom for her birthday... I told her that we could go out and see what she wanted. Once at the store, after adding up everything she wanted for her room, $$$, I told her that she had to pick...bedroom makeover or birthday party with her friends. She picked having a slumber party and that was the last I heard about making over her bedroom.

However, Joel and I decided to surprise her and makeover her room for her on the day of her party. On Thursday I ran around town and gathered all of the supplies...paint, bedding, light fixtures, and misc. decor. Friday morning, after dropping them off at school, the craziness began. Thanks to Susie and Linden, my mother-in-law, we pulled it off in the nick of time. Literally...it was close! I think it turned out great!!

(I forgot before pictures, sorry)

She was so excited!

2 hours later....

Even though I was very tired, the slumber party began. She invited 6 girls to spend the night. We started the evening with snacks and then headed over to 1st Impressions Salon for glitter toes! They are very cute, I got mine done too :) Then, to entertain them before / after they got their toes done, Mckayla styled their hair. Thanks Brenda and girls!

We got back to the house around 9 p.m. and had pizza, cake and ice cream. Then the pillow fights, giggling, scary stories, giggling, and movies began. Around midnight I thought they were settling down for the nights so I headed up to bed - EXHAUSTED!!

Around 3 A.M. I was woken up ~ it wasn't pretty! If you know me...I HATE BEING WOKEN UP! Sometime during those 3 hours they moved everything upstairs to Ky's room and decided to start jamming out to Ky's new Justin Bieber CD. After unplugging the CD player I told them I was not leaving the room until each one of them was sound asleep. Luckily it didn't take long for them to crash. However, they were not happy when I went in and woke them up at 8:30 a.m....Chezney had a soccer game to go to! It worked out great for me, instead of quietly waking up only Chezney, I opened the door and made sure they all woke up! We had everyone awake, cleaned up, fed breakfast, and taken home by 9:30 a.m.
Then Joel and I went back to bed!

The girls had a great time and I'm
happy it's finally over with!
(The night felt like it was never going to end......)

Ky's actual Birthday is tomorrow, May 4th.
My baby girl will be 9 years old :(

I hate how they grow up SO fast!
