When all was said and done, I only had to pay half of the fee and if I don't get another ticket for 6 months...the points will never go on my record! It's called a plea in abeyance. It is an agreement that allows the court to dismiss your violation(s) upon completion of certain criteria. My criteria being that I don't get another ticket for 6 months.
When leaving the courthouse the Prosecutor told me that I owe my friend big time. He also said that if I do get another ticket in the next 6 months, he is sure my friend will hunt me down and take me to jail himself...which I know is true, lol!
This is the same friend that came to my rescue and helped me graduate from high school. I am sure I hold the record for needing the most community service hours to graduate at Bonneville High School (tardies killed me... and skipping class one or two times didn't help either ;) I spent many hours with this friend fulfilling my hours. However, he is also the friend that if I got into trouble with my parents, and he found out, he would come over to our house and hand cuff me to a hall closet door for hours on end. He scared me in my younger days...seriously! My dad and this friend thought it was hilarious... I DID NOT!
To my friend, if you read this... Thank you! Thank you! You have been with me through the good, the bad, and the ugly and thanks for being there for me again today! You are absolutely fabulous :o)
P.S. I call him my "friend" in this blog, because if he ever found out I posted his name in a blog on the internet...I would see him a lot sooner than I would like and it would not be pretty, lol!
