Texting. . .

I love texting....but more importantly I love texting my kids. I seriously wish I would have had a cell phone growing up, life would have been SO much easier. This year SRJH changed the rules and are now allowing kids to have cell phones at school...and most teachers even allow them to use them during school. I like it....I'm glad I was on the Community Council when that came up for vote. Ry will text me during the day to let me know his plans after school or to let me know how he did on a test...it's great!

However, lately Ry has had a TERRIBLE attitude. Basically he's 13 and just sucks to be him right now......or so he thinks. I keep watching...looking for...something that might actually be going wrong in his life, but as of right now, he's a straight A student and enjoys going to school, he has a great group of friends that he enjoys hanging out with, he stilling LOVES going fishing and enjoys riding his bike at the skate park, and he still continues to tell me EVERYTHING that's going on in his world....I think he's OK.

A few weeks ago I decided that I would start texting him little daily quotes to help remind him to change his attitude...like "Our attitude toward others determines their attitude toward us...Love you" and "The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind...Love you" with an occasional "I love you because.....". He thinks I'm lame but at least I know that he's laughing at least once a day ;)

Anyway, Ry then decided to start sending things back to me...like:

MOM...This is SO you!

AND

This reminds me of you and Dad :-)

I'm just glad he's taking pictures of comics to text me...I probably would have taken pictures of something much more creative to send to my parents ;)

This is a video that one of Ry's friends took of him while at the skate park.
